We’re all just charcoal.
Just sitting idly by until something comes,
Something like a spark.
The spark is a passion,
An idea, a thought.
A talent newly discovered.
The spark starts a fire, and
Our embers glow gently.
Then time goes by and all around us,
Things change. People change.
Some fires are fueled by support,
Patience, dedication, love.
These turn into flames that can burn the
rest of your life if you keep feeding them.
But be careful.
Sometimes the ones around you aren’t burning yet. Not fully.
They’re still being fed and they will burn hotter than they ever thought possible.
When the time comes.
Don’t shine too bright,
Or they’ll turn their backs on you.
Smother your light until they rise up to meet you.
Stay humble. Live small.
Heat your own corner of the world, nothing more.
