Gift Ideas Under $20
As of this article, there are 34 days until Christmas and that means shoppers are coming into the home stretch. If you’re anything like me, well, you just started shopping. During my pondering of what to gift people, I decided to help you out by constructing a solid list of gifts that are under $20 dollars. The goal here is to spark your thought process into coming up with an idea at the very least, and the best-case scenario is that one of the items on this list is a winner. I’ll break this down for men, women, and children. As always, ladies first!
Women can be tricky to shop for, but there are a few sure-fire items that I dare say all women love. First on the list are fuzzy socks. These are wonderful for lounging around the house or while cuddled up with a good book. Kohl’s and Amazon are wonderful places to find deals. Typically these run $8-12 a pair, but if you search hard enough you can find better deals.
Second are candles, especially from Bath and Body Works. If you can wait for their deals. Last time I was around, they had 3 wick candles for just under $13. They also have other sizes for lower prices, but you can never go wrong with a solid candle.
Third and lastly, look for a good book or movie. This year over any, I’ve seen many people asking for books or movies. This is something everyone can enjoy! Take it a step further and if you get the movie, buy popcorn and beverages, turning your night into a Christmas home cinema.
Now, over to the men on your list. Again, if you or your man are anything like me then they are simple and not very good at deciding what they want. Here are three ideas that are sure to get them smiling as soon as they open your gift.
First is a wallet, but not any wallet, a minimalist/card wallet. We’ve all seen a guy with the George Costanza wallet that is packed with unnecessary items. A nice leather or carbon fiber minimalist wallet will force him to consolidate into something that won’t hurt his back and is stylish.
Secondly are socks, but specific to what they do. If they work in an office, look for some dress socks that are modern and comfortable. For those in the labor industry, wool socks for the winter are always a solid choice. Regardless, socks are one safe way to go.
Lastly, purchase something they can enjoy such as liquor, cigars, or beer. These are wonderful options because they can enjoy them now or when the warmer months roll around. There’s nothing like grabbing a bottle of smooth liquor to sip on while the warm summer air blows through the trees.
Last and certainly not least are the children on your list. There are so many ways to go but to stay under $20, here are a few gift ideas. First, purchase a couple of picture books for them to enjoy. These will be good for a couple years and contribute to educational growth. When they grow older and no longer need those books, they can hand them down or donate them. It’s a win-win for everyone!
Secondly, look for an outfit or two. There are plenty of places out there that have outfits for under $20 and look great. This way they can look stylish while going out for the day. Again, once they grow out of the clothes, they can be handed down or donated.
Third and final are backyard toys, and these can be for any season. Sleds for the winter or water toys for the summer, stores such as Five Below and Dollar Tree have many options to choose from. This is something that can be used over and over, providing hours of enjoyment.
This is a short list of items you can look at if you are on a tight budget. Don’t underestimate stores such as Five Below and Dollar Tree because you can find hidden gems. Hopefully, this sparked your mind and gets you on your way. Be sure to also check Amazon as they have deals and you can typically buy multiple items for less.
