Jim James Announces Career-Spanning Solo Acoustic Tour
Jim James has announced a unique, career-spanning solo acoustic concert tour, beginning November 2 at Los Angeles, CA’s Cathedral Sanctuary. Then after visiting historic theatres and performing arts centers across the United States, the tour will culminate with a November 21 homecoming show at Louisville, KY’s much-loved Louisville Palace. The dates will see the acclaimed My Morning Jacket frontman – accompanied by longtime touring drummer David Givan – perform a career-encompassing repertoire including songs from his eagerly awaited new album, Uniform Distortion to arrive everywhere on Friday, June 29. Special guest Alynda Segarra from Hurray for the Riff Raff will be supported on all dates.
“I am looking forward to exploring all sorts of songs stripped down as they first occurred in their natural habitat — just voice and guitar. Although I have played many shows by myself, this will be my first tour of this style and I am excited to see everyone out on the open road,” says James.
One dollar per ticket purchased will go to The Waterfall Project, whose beneficiaries will be United for A Fair Economy and National Bail Fund Network. Tickets for all newly announced dates will go on sale Friday, June 22. For complete details, please visit jimjames.com/events.
In addition, James’ upcoming live schedule includes a one-night-only double bill supporting Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters at Berkeley, CA’s Greek Theatre Berkeley on June 21 as well as a sold-out full-band performance at Los Angeles’ intimate Pico Union celebrating the release of Uniform Distortion, slated for July 18.
