Anxiety Machine

A poem about the things anxiety makes us feel
Created by Patricia Harris in Canva

Opening the computer,
just for some fun.
Staring at the screen,
all the plans are undone.

The niggling feeling
at the back of my head,
that I have work to do
pounds at me instead.

Robbing me of the joy
that I might have had,
making me feel like
I am something so bad.

So I shut down the machine
that once made me smile,
for a bit of housework
that could have waited a while.
