I

stir

to her

wet nose

against my hand.

Nudging, she makes expressive noises—and,

when our eyes meet, hers are ardent and sincere.

Always near me, never troubling me.

I

scratch

behind her ear

she flips onto her back

four paws in the air,

tail swishing—side to side.

We

walk

together on the beach

face to face with the blue horizon.

Joyful!             Joyful!             Joyful!

As only she can be,

all her sweet and salty life.

I

wonder

does she know how much I love her?

And what a fine arrangement it is.
