Beth Chapman Simply An Unforgettable Role Model

Beth Chapman was known to millions as the take no prisoners, tell it like she saw it, female bounty hunter/bail bondswoman, and wife of Dwayne “Dog” Chapman. On June 26, 2019, she passed away in the early morning hours. It was no surprise that she had been engaged in her second battle with cancer, which in the end took her from this world. Yet, she didn’t back down one bit from living life as always.
Even as she fought with cancer Beth kept living life, becoming an example to people of how to beat cancer even if it takes your life in the end. As well as proving Miss Johnson from Dangerous Minds right that you always have a choice even in how you die.
Beth knew what it was like to be in hard situations and on the wrong side of the law. She took her experiences and used them to help other women get on a better path than the one she started out on when she saw them heading down a similar path.
She was a woman who was comfortable showing both her feminine and masculine sides at any given time. Never afraid to tell anyone like it is in her opinion. And, may God have mercy on your soul if you hurt one of her kids whether they were an adult or not.
While Beth wasn’t trying to be a role model for the feminist movement, she ended up becoming a shining example for all women on how to be both strong and delicate at the same time. While at the same time being a mentor to so many young women in how to get started or back on a good path in life. All while still running a business, hunting fugitives, and battling cancer.
Beth was a strong force who will be sorely missed in this world. She was one of those people that comes along once in a lifetime. And, none of them were perfect including her, as she would admit herself. Yet like them Beth was still a positive force in this world and her vulnerability made her an even stronger force.
It would not surprise me that even those she helped capture are grieving her passing since she always tried to help get them back on the right path even as she locked them up. Like her husband Duane “Dog” Chapman, she had the idea that jail was meant to rehabilitate and not just punish criminals. Even as some of them were beyond rehabilitation.
Even Dog was not enough to keep this shooting tar from burning out. Yet, even as Beth passes beyond, she has mapped out a path for the Dog. As Morpheus in The Matrix said, “There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.” Yet I am sure Dog knows just how to walk this path and will start walking it when the time is right in his heart and soul. For now, while friends, family, and fans celebrate Beth’s life, the criminals can live in fear not knowing when Dog will come for them or even what to expect from Dog when it is their time to be arrested by him.
Even though Beth didn’t think people liked her, I can hear her laughing now and thinking “and they thought I was the mean one.” Beth is a shining example to women to show that strong side and still be delicate, we could all take a lesson in the balance she displayed.
I could go on and on about Beth, but a tear is starting to form, and she would not want me to cry while writing about her as it was said many times at her memorial.
