Brainstorming Video Ideas For YouTube

One of the most important things you can do to help start and grow a Youtube channel is having content. This means brainstorming ideas that you can turn into a video for your channel. This starts with determining your niche, or what your channel will be about. You can veer off from your chosen topics, but knowing your genre helps to keep content in order and to keep things organized in the long run.
1. How to determine your niche?
Do you like makeup? Are you a parent? Entrepreneur? Do you journal? Are you a student? Do you carve soap? Whatever you like, you can create and stay on that path. I can’t tell you how long I’ve sat and watched soap carving videos. Who knew that was a thing?
2. Build a list of video ideas.
Once your niche is defined it will help build a list of video ideas. Having these ideas on paper will help to steer the direction of content on your channel. There are a few basic video ideas that you can start with. Introduce yourself and your channel before you jump into the topics. No matter what the idea, write it down. Actually, write down as many ideas as you can for videos in one sitting. The more content you can come up with, the more creative your ideas will become and the more content you will have for your channel.
3. Start a content calendar.
Start with the basics, introduce yourself in one video and then in the next introduce your channel and your niche. Then you can get into the meat of your video ideas. Once you have a list of potential video topics, you can start a content calendar using Google Docs, or whatever program or application fits your creative endeavor. This will give you a monthly overview of what your videos and publishing schedule will look like. You can update as needed.
4. Have fun with your ideas and your channel.
Make sure to have fun with your ideas and do what you like to do. Make the list, and know that it doesn’t mean you can’t change topics or are locked into specific ideas, you aren’t. This is just a stepping stone to have a more cohesive creative channel that is organized and pleasurable to participate in.
