Why I Am A Cheeseburger Addict

For most that know me, it is no surprise that I am a cheeseburger addict. For those just learning this fact, it shouldn’t be a surprise since I like a lot of flavor in anything I eat. And, a cheeseburger when made right, has a ton of flavor.

There are a ton of different ways to make a cheeseburger. Though it is rare I have any that aren’t made using the classic beef for meat variety. When it comes to cheese I have had a variety of flavors/kinds. But, meat in the patty form topped with cheese on a bun is the recipe for a cheeseburger in its most basic form.

Aside from that, the only limit is what your imagination and what your taste buds put on you. You can be imaginative with what qualifies as a bun. There are also a ton of variations on condiments. From a Tex/Mex style featuring salsa as the main condiment combined with lettuce and tomatoes. To the classic made with ketchup, mayonnaise, pickles, onions, tomatoes, and lettuce. Or a BBQ version made with Onion Rings and BBQ Sauce.

These are just a few examples from the ones I have had, not including the version with bacon since bacon usually makes things better in my book. It’s just a matter of imagination for it to be something to try. Though usually, the actual product will be far better than what you imagine with some exceptions, of course.

That alone is part of why I like cheeseburgers. Along with the side dishes you can have it with. I start with french fries (I refuse to call them freedom fries) or onion rings. Then I add in a salad from any number of variations of pasta, potato, or garden salad.

For me, it is a nice balanced meal in it all as well as a variety of flavors to choose from and experience. Though it is still not a meal to be had every night even if I could enjoy it for a long time before getting tired of it. After all everything, even those foods we enjoy so much, should be enjoyed in moderation.

But, when it comes down to it, the main reason I am a cheeseburger addict is flavor. Though some think that the cheeseburger is an old idea in that department it is gaining ground as new things are tried with it. As I said, in the beginning, it is all about imagination. Though this is not a stoner dish since it is possible to burn down the house if you pass out while cooking it, so, assuming you haven’t been smoking any Mary Jane, take your favorite ground meat and favorite cheese. Then combine them with something from your imagination and see what you can come up with to tickle your taste buds. *Tips his hat and walks out the door towards a burger stand*.
