COVID BLUES: VERSE 3

That’s why I’m singin’ this song to you

for all the stuff you’ve been through.

We remember when you stole our innocent Emmett Till.

We relive that hurt over and over again.

And, we will continue until it stops.

We are tired of standing on the auction block.

Tired we are, of hanging from trees.

Tired of our necks being crushed by your knees.

I’m singin’ this song to you

for all the stuff you’ve been through.

You’re lonely and don’t know what to do.

You say you want love, but you’re afraid to love too.

Well, I pray you find someone, someone good and true.

I pray you find someone to sing the blues with you.

I’m singin’ this song for you

for all the stuff you’ve been through.

Some say “Black Lives Matter”

Some say it’s “All Lives”

When in the spirit world, none of our souls

are standing the test of time.

If you really want to help,

If you want to spread the love,

then put on your mask, and pull up your gloves.

And stand. Stand Tall. Stand Strong.

Sacrifice it all and pull Satan off his throne.
