Defeated

What inside of me won’t give up?
How do I survive each day?
What makes me feel this way inside?
What else is there to say?
No one listens, even through the shouts
in spite of my best efforts
My empathy and humbleness puts me out.
I still wake up with hope and love in my heart
even though I know
that by days end I will feel defeated.
