Even Greatest Warriors Rest
It’s okay not to have motivation all the time. It’s okay if there are days you don’t want to do anything. If you wake up in the morning and it takes all your energy to do the basics to get through the day, it’s okay. Life can be difficult, but don’t give up. Don’t give up when you struggle.
You – we – may have learned it’s unproductive and wrong to spend a day to ourselves, but that’s illogical. Everyone needs time to themselves. One point or another, you’ll burn out if you keep pushing. It seems pushing is the only way to get through everything, and it is. It’s all right to rest, though.
Other times we need to, absolutely need to, keep pushing. Get through your workday; get your assignment done. Don’t procrastinate your life away. Resting isn’t an excuse for procrastination. Rest when your mind and body tell you to, don’t let yourself fry out. Keep going.
Do everything in your power, but don’t give up. Never give up on life, no matter how tired you feel you are. Being tired is okay. Giving up isn’t okay; it shouldn’t be an option. Giving up on life shouldn’t cross your radar as a legitimate option. When it comes to that, keep going.
Life will be difficult, and there will be paths you never thought you would need to cross. One day a bridge will be there. The next, it will be on fire. Sometimes it’s your fault, other times it’s not. It’s okay not to know what to do.
Carrying the world on your shoulders isn’t healthy for you or for everything you’re carrying. Shrug it off, allow yourself to take that deep breath. Allow yourself to breathe when it feels like you can’t possibly keep going. Allow yourself time to heal when something goes wrong.
We can’t hold it together at all times. We cannot consistently make everything okay. Sometimes, take the deep breath you need and let things go. Fight through the battles when you feel that you can, but know that even warriors take the time to rest.
