For The Love Of Link

Hi there,

My name is Lincoln. I’m going to tell you about the day I met my family.

Have you ever heard someone tell you that when you meet someone you really love you can feel it right away?

Well, that’s what happened to me. In the place I lived before, no one loved me and I was by myself. From the time the sun came up in the morning until the sun would go down at night.

But when my human came to me, this whole new world opened up. We became fast friends because she scratched my ears just right.

I was sad when she left and then the sun went down. I woke up the next morning and she was at my house again.

We went for a ride in the car, it was fun!  I really like the car but I don’t like the vet because I’ve never been there before and new things are scary.

My new house was scary the first day too. I had butterflies in my tummy all day long. I wouldn’t even eat the treats they bought me.

Then I was put in a box with a lot of blankets in it. The next day I woke up and my family was there. That was when I knew they wouldn’t leave me. I will never be lonely again.

I felt safe enough to eat. Everyone marvels at my huge appetite now!

I’ve also discovered many new things that I love. I play this game with Keely where she pulls on a rope as I pull on a rope and it’s a lot of fun!  I also have stuffed animals that sleep in my box with me that make me feel safe and give me something to chew on.

I think my most favorite thing to do is go outside. Did you know most dogs go to the bathroom there? I had never been outside before I came to live here. Being outside now is one of my favorite things! I like to sniff flowers, I love all the pretty colors and new smells. I like to listen to the birds and chase the squirrels around.

I’m glad I found my “furever home” and a family who loves me as much as I love them – that’s all any dog ever really wants!

Love,
