Spring is well underway, and summertime is fast approaching. The beautiful state of Michigan offers many opportunities, guaranteeing fun-filled days for families. Listed below are six wonderful ideas.

• Go Fishing

Michigan has so many lakes to enjoy fishing at! Gather your family together and enjoy a nice day at the lake fishing, barbecuing, and relaxing. Whether you’re fishing from the shoreline or from a boat, you’re guaranteed to catch fish, and if you enjoy eating them, you’ll be rewarded with a nice fresh-caught dinner!

• Go To The Movies

One thing that I love about the movie theaters around me in Michigan is that they are never packed full of people. There have been times when my husband and I have had the movie theater to just ourselves while viewing a popular movie! Many of the movie theaters are also offering drive-up movies to promote social distancing. Check out the movie theaters in your local area to see if that’s an option for you!

• Go For A Nature Hike

There is such amazing scenery in so many places throughout Michigan. The parks have many nature trails to follow, and you will probably see some wildlife on your walk. Porcupines, raccoons, opossums, fox, deer, and bald eagles are all native to Michigan, and I have seen many on my day-to-day drives. Bring the kids and teach them a little about the animals you spot for a healthy and educational walk!

• Garden

I have found that many people in my area enjoy gardening and always seem to have an abundance of fruits and vegetables that they have grown. My neighbor loves to leave us baggies of goodies from his garden, and it is so fun to be able to have seen them growing in his yard and their journey to our dinner plates! Seeds are fairly inexpensive, so pick out some of your favorite fruits and vegetables and get growing!

• Take An Art Tour

Many of the college towns often showcase art from their students and other local artists throughout buildings in the town. Find what is offered in your area and enjoy the beautiful creations that these artists have put their time and energy into. You may even find a piece to display in your home!

• Explore Food Options

Whenever I am scrolling on Facebook or TikTok, I often see other people from Michigan promoting food places near them. So many of them seem to offer great food and desserts! With so many options available, you are sure to find something you like and can make a day trip out of it. Wake up early and drive with your family to a town you’ve never been to, then try some fresh baked cookies, fried fish, or barbecue!

There are so many things to do here in Michigan that you won’t find yourself bored any time soon.
