Halloween: Yay Or Nay?

I liked Halloween as a child, but as I grew older, it became less and less fun.  I suppose because, as an adult, the fun, childlike innocent activities disappeared from my fall list of fun.  I didn’t go on hayrides anymore, didn’t get dressed up, didn’t go trick or treating, and I didn’t go to haunted houses.

The only activity I did was stay in the house and watch scary movies, which is something I despise.  I hate horror movies; I don’t like being scared.  I would always have nightmares after watching them.  I would much rather pick out a pumpkin, go apple picking or decorate for Halloween than watch a horror flick.

Of course, it doesn’t help that everyone in my family loves horror movies.  I’ve decided this year to get some Halloween movies more suited to my taste so that I might enjoy the holiday once again.  Some of the movies I’ve purchased are Casper, Hocus Pocus, Sleepy Hollow, Adams Family, and Adams Family Values.  And I’m looking forward to watching them this Halloween.  I was even thinking of getting some creepy books to read as well for the Holiday.  My favorite author is Edgar Allan Poe.

I also love to bake. I’ve been collecting creepy Halloween recipes to bake this year.  I really can’t wait.  I hope my family and friends enjoy them.

I believe this year I’m going to bring back my innocent love of Halloween.  I’m going to try to make it as fun as possible.  I believe this year Halloween is going to be a yay!

I was even contemplating getting a costume for my cat, Daenerys, and taking a few pictures.  I doubt she’d be very happy in it, but I’ll only keep it on her for a few minutes.  Happy early Halloween, everyone!!!
