How To Write A YouTube Description

YouTube descriptions are very important. They give information about you, your channel, and the video you created. Not only that, but you can add links for potential products you used in your video or your social media links. There will also be a call-to-action for the viewers, but if the description is too long, too wordy, or just messy, then the viewer may not read it or want to subscribe to your channel.
To start, create your video. Once you are ready to write your description, there are a few things to keep in mind. Remember, the first three lines are the most important because they are the first lines viewers see before they are prompted to “read more.” So make this statement interesting to draw in the viewer to read more.
Next, link any products you used or spoke about in your videos. This is just a nice service for your viewers so they can purchase or learn more about those products. If you have a sponsor, you can also add more info about the company and what they offer, plus your discount codes if applicable.
Include information about you and add your social media links. This will give viewers a chance to learn about you outside of YouTube. Or, if your followers want to support you in other areas, they can. Be sure to include an email so people can inquire about potential business partnerships.
Lastly, add any additional details you feel should be included. If you use a song or specific image, you can add the artist and the links to their work. Once you add everything you need to, read over the description, make any corrections needed, be sure to spellcheck.
Now you can use this as a template for other video descriptions. Just add or subtract any information that is specific to the current video. There you have it! Writing a description is necessary and should be done for every video. What you write is up to you, but it could be beneficial to your channel.
