LAUNCH AWAY

Launch away from the noise of the blue-green land,
from an earth engulfed in hate.
Launch away from the streets with doors locked tight,
from the fights that wait at the gate.
Launch away from the eyes that have grown so cold,
that clutch us in fear like a vise.
Launch away from the mobs that raze and that torch,
and the store that is yours, pays the price.
For the earth is blue and its light entreats,
and the hue lets you think there is peace.
There is hate, there is hate, there is too much hate,
let us shift, readjust, let us cease.
Look inside, for the man that is smarter than a beast,
for the poise, that is better than this.
Time to pause, time to think, time to figure it out.
Time to ask this world; what’s amiss?
Where’s the spine, where’s the spine, of the man inside,
for the noble built within.
Come again launch-back and search once more,
for we know that we’re all but kin.
For we all have a heart, and a mind, and some sense,
and we all bleed the same red too.
We are kind, we are strong, we are brave, we are proud,
we can reach, we can stretch, we can do.
Look again to the earth of the blue-green lands,
where its future we hold, so to speak.
For the earth does glow, it is rich with life,
and this glow lets you know we’re unique.
Leave alone, leave alone, leave it all alone.
Let us stop, take a breath, let us heal.
Then we wait, if we wait, then we don’t go down.
Then we’ll know, then we’ll find, what is real.
