Most Field Goals Made In NBA History

Amassing 11,000 made field goals is quite a great accomplishment for an NBA player.
How great is it, you ask?
Well, only a handful of the NBA’s all-time greatest players can boast the accomplishment. Take a moment to notice what I said. I said only a handful of the league’s all-time greatest players. I didn’t merely say only a handful out of all the basketball players to ever play in The Association. This means what? It means that there are plenty of special players throughout league history who – while they certainly left their marks on the game of basketball in other ways – cannot boast 11,000 made field goals in their careers. That’s pretty damn historic.
Only eight NBA players have ever amassed at least 11,000 made field goals. Yeah. Just eight. That’s it…for now anyway.
Future Hall of Famers LeBron James and Dirk Nowitzki are the latest players to reach that noteworthy number. They did so in 2018, during what was James’ 15th NBA season and Nowitzki’s 20th NBA season. James reached 11,000 first, followed by Nowitzki nearly a month later. In doing so, both men joined a rare club of basketball greats. Congratulations, guys!
Now that they’ve added this statistic to their already-polished NBA résumés, James and Nowitzki make up the tail-end of a short, but spectacular, list. Scroll down to check it out.

King James notched his 11,000th made field goal on Feb. 22, during a game in which the Cleveland Cavaliers played against the Washington Wizards. Although the Cavs were at home, they lost that game; the Wizards beat them 110-103 at the end of regulation. James, a member of the Cavs at the time, played for 37 minutes. He finished with 32 points.
Dirk made his 11,000th career field goal on March 16, during a game in which the Dallas Mavericks played against the Toronto Raptors. While the Mavericks did manage to avoid taking an “L” in regulation, the Raptors still beat them in overtime; the final score was 122-115. Nowitzki played for 24 minutes, finishing with 8 points.
While the top-six players on the above list no longer suit up for an NBA roster, James will continue to add to his current number of career field goals as he suits up for the Los Angeles Lakers next season. Nowitzki can add to his current number, too – barring retirement, of course.
Now scroll through the above list again. Think about all the basketball legends who are not on it. Crazy, right?
