New Year-New Goals
Every year,
I watch the New Year’s Eve ball
light up like fireworks
on the 4th of July
As the clock slowly
makes its way towards midnight,
my heart beats rapidly
from all of the excitement
My eyes light up,
my smile
grows more full
as I watch the ball
come down the building
Many people
think about kissing their partner,
which I hope to do someday,
but my mind thinks about
all the things
I want to accomplish this year
I have set
many goals for 2020,
many people
might not
believe in making a new year’s resolution,
but it’s a long-time tradition.
I’m not making resolutions this year
I’m making goals,
goals motivate me,
inspire me,
and encourage me
We all have goals,
so, join me
and make your own.
This year is all about
my education,
writing,
and starting my teaching career
