I wrote a tribute poem to my late father, Ramon Olivares, in honor of Father’s Day.  He passed away in 2005 from cancer. It has been 14 years since he left this earth and Father’s Day is always rough for me and my family.

Papa

How I miss you.

Papa

How I wish you were here.

Papa

Wow, I can’t believe 14 years have gone since you left this earth.

Papa

I still remember hearing you singing songs with your amazing voice,  a sound which could command a crowd of people.  Roars of applause as you strummed your guitar and also later changed to harmonica.

Papa

There is so much I want to share with you and each year on Father’s day  it is bittersweet

Because I wish you were here with me.

Papa

no matter how long the time has passed since you have been away I miss you like it was yesterday.

Happy Father’s day Papa

know you are always in my heart.
