Please, Turn Around

There is enough hatred in the world. Why would we add to it? Someone scorned us. We were hurt. When hurt, we spread this pain onto others. Some are undeserving. Some of the rage we have felt has been unnerving. It’s been out of pain. It’s out of the agony we feel from losing someone.

Losing a friend is a painful process. Ending any relationship is hurtful. It doesn’t matter the closeness of the person. It hurts. We don’t know what to do other than let it happen. Sometimes we fight for it not to end. We don’t want this to be the end of the friendship.

It can sink in. We can find the light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes we walk backward. The darkness is there. It’s always haunting us. Heading into the dark seems to be the easy way. The simple way is to walk into it. We don’t know what other direction to go. The light is gone, but we’re not looking for it anymore. We’re looking for the dark now.

The rage builds up. It turns us into what we never wanted to become. We never wanted to be the monster. The monster lives inside of us. We all have one. We know it’s there. It’s always perched on our shoulder waiting for us. It whispers into our ears. It tells us we should head this way. The other voice is drowned out.

The light we saw before is living behind us now. We head further down the tunnel. It is overwhelming. There’s nothing we can do anymore, is there? Turn around. Please, turn around. The light is still there. The light will lead us the way we need to go.

The darkness is the easier path, isn’t it? The rage, hatred, anger, frustration, pain. We let it sit in our hearts, and we let it build inside of us. How can this be? Eventually, we’ll collapse under the pressure. We can’t handle all the negativity.

We need to turn back to the light we once saw. We need to head back towards it. It’s always been there, hasn’t it? Where was it when we needed it the most? Where was that light while we were wandering that dark tunnel? It’s always been there. It’s been right behind us.

Turn around. Head back to the light. There’s enough anger in the world. There’s enough hatred. Letting go of someone or something can be painful, but it’s the best choice. It’s the best thing we can do. Go to the light and free ourselves of everything.

Free ourselves of the pain and frustration. Go back to where we need to be. It’s never been the end of the world. The rage we felt was real, but it was never necessary. It was never something we needed. Just turn around.

Forgive, let go, and move forward in life. Go towards the light that will direct you the way you need to go. Let go, and turn around.
