Seven Games To Keep You Entertained For Hours

Video Game

While many are beginning to return to work as COVID-19 slows down, many are still working from home or are unemployed. If you’ve run out of home projects and cleaning to do, why not pick up a new video game and enjoy some time adventuring with friends. Here are some of my favorite games that I suggest for hours of fun!

1.) Minecraft

Minecraft may seem like a game for young kids, and we’re all familiar with some of the characters that we have seen on t-shirts, plushies, and in the kid’s toy section. However, there is a lot to do for adults too! Experiment with red stone and make complicated contraptions such as elevators, moving vehicles, roller-coasters, and more. Mine through deep caverns and collect different types of minerals. Poison your enemies by learning how to brew potions. Create large farms filled with animals and bountiful fruits and vegetables. Fight Endermen and find the end portal to defeat the deadly dragon and beat the game! You can have quite a few join you in your endeavors and spend hours creating buildings and structures.

2.) Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Whether you’ve played the older versions or not, Animal Crossing is such an easy game even for beginner gamers. Gather supplies from your island and build up houses and shops. Pay off your mortgage by selling items. Trade items with friends and expand your house. Host tournaments on who can catch the biggest or most fish or bugs. Animal Crossing is an extremely relaxing game to help wind down at the end of the day, and the possibilities of what to do next are endless.

3.) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Intensify things by fighting in different maps as the coalition or allegiance. Unlock new weapon attachments and skins by completing challenges. Try and unlock the Damascus weapon skins by completing all of the challenges for every weapon. Enter the warzone and fight for first as gas and enemies close in around you. Try and collect thirty kills without dying to send out a nuclear missile and win the game for your team.

4.) Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege

If you’re looking for extreme intensity, this game is for you. Work as the attacking team to defuse the defender’s bomb, capture their hostage, or secure the room. Every operator has a different specialty, and there are so many to choose from. Play as Jackal and track your enemies’ footprints, but watch out for Caviera whose silent step ability makes her footprints invisible and her steps silent. Break through barricaded walls, floors, and ceilings to get to your enemies. Work hard, and you may be able to kill an entire five-man team on your own to earn bragging rights.

5.) Sea of Thieves

Aye Matey, raise the anchor and lower the sails as you set off to venture the deadly sea of thieves. Watch out for megalodons, skeleton ships, ghost ships, and other players as you move toward your marked X on the map. When the sea turns black, you’re in trouble! Look out for the Kraken! Her large tentacles will suck you off of your ship and throw you deep below the blackened water as your teammates work to fix the damage she does as she slams into your ship. Sell your hard-earned treasures at an outpost so you can buy new ship decor, clothing, equipment, pets, and more.

6.) Grand Theft Auto V

This game is loaded with violence as well as sex and drug references, so make sure the littles are away before you play this. Own different types of businesses and keep them supplied. Become a president of a motorcycle club and take over the streets, destroying anyone and anything in your path. Play at the casino and try and win a new car or play blackjack, poker, or roulette with friends. Try and complete the diamond casino heist and earn millions of dollars. There is so much to do in this large open world map!

7.) Mario Kart

An all-time favorite for many! Collect coins as you race other players to the finish line. Power-ups like the turtle shell will help you get ahead of other racers. In battle mode, you can play different mini-games. Try and take out all of the enemy’s balloons by using power-ups. Don’t get caught by the plant police as you drive around and try and save your enemies from the cages they’re locked in! This game has some pretty adorable and interactive maps and will bring you right down memory lane!
