The Jazzy Chronicles: Bat Cat

The Jazzy Chronicles

Hey coffee lovers and Jazzy fans! I am back for another edition of the Jazzy Chronicles! Aren’t you happy Tish is writing this for me, two weeks in a row? Last time, I wrote about Purr-sonal Space. Since then, things have gotten back to normal. I am thrilled to say we even had company, and they were dog free. Now I am much friendlier to our guests when they do not bring a dog to visit. Tish has teased me by barking at me to see how I would react. Like I don’t know the difference between Tish and a dog. She says I am smart, and then she tries to trick me. It’s a good thing she is capable of the feeding and the scooping. Otherwise, I would have to look for a different person.
When Tish and I talked, she told me I would have to be less camera-shy and way more cooperative when she wanted to take my picture if I want to write more of my chronicles. I am growing, and as adorable as I am, the kitten stage is ending. Tish tells me all the time how much she loves me, unless I play too rough. I have always been an active kitten, and I never hold back. Well, except for that one time, when I was so startled by an intruder I didn’t know what to do. I mean really, the first time I see a mouse it hides behind my litter box. Of all the wonderful places to hide in my home, hiding there was so lame it shocked me. I guess Tish is a good person, because she must have realized it was stealing my food. The second she discovered the mouse she trapped it and woke Roy up to get it out of the house. Maybe Tish was a cat in a former life. Her method was unorthodox, but it worked.

As I am growing, I work hard to stay active. I also try to get Tish up and moving often, as long as I am not too sleepy. We have a routine: she will get up and hide my toys in the cat furniture, and I will evict them. When I get bored with this game, I sleep inside my tower at the top of my castle with the toys. Tish does spend a lot of time working at her desk and needs the distractions. Other times, I will feel a catnap coming on, and I will go make her take a break from her work. This does not always work to my advantage because sometimes Tish is too busy to hold me for my nap. Other times, it works out perfectly, and she will stop working to watch TV while she holds me, and I have a power snooze. She says I am getting heavy; I know I am solid and growing. I do not think I am overweight, but it is hard to tell under all of my glorious, fluffy fur.
I really love to mess with Roy’s head. One night, it was dark, and I was playing as hard as the rambunctious kitten I am on my furniture. At one point, I freaked him out! I was sitting inside of the cat furniture circle, not the castle, completely upside down. He laughs about it now and calls me Bat Cat. These people never seem to settle on just calling me Jazzy. They are always confusing me with these other names. I am the only cat here; you would think it would be easy to keep my name straight.

Tish has been doing more cleaning and organizing in the litter box suite. She calls it the ‘master bedroom suite,’ but we know what they should call it. The bed is there too, but the litter box is the most important thing in there. She piled a whole basket of clothes on the bed and made it disappear. She also opened the closet doors, and some clothing went in there. Then she did the most confusing thing: she removed the clothes basket and filled it up with more clothes. I do not understand where she will put them. They are still in the basket, maybe that is where they will stay. The room has more floor space to run, with fewer things to navigate around. The downside of this cleaning is that it lessens the opportunities I have to play Hide and Sneak. I am continually in hunt and play mode, unless I am eating or sleeping. It is what kittens do best!
Since I had that chat with Tish about being less camera shy, I suppose I had better cooperate and strike a pose. Once I get all settled in for another catnap, I will be too busy sleeping to write any more this time. Oh! Do you know what I think is delicious and goes with coffee? Doughnuts! I had a tiny piece once, and I fell in love. I would rather have doughnuts and milk, but I know the readers here prefer coffee, so I thought I would share the tip with you before Tish goes snap happy and I pass out. Tish says I snore. Sometimes I catch her giggling at me. The joke is on her though; she snores too!
I am warm, and cozy, and drifting off to dreamland. Catch you next time, coffee lovers!
