The Jazzy Chronicles | Celebrity Status

Hey, Coffee House Readers! It’s me, Jazzy MacWebber here, of The Jazzy Chronicles. Can you believe I had my first birthday, back in March? Tish gave me salmon out of a can to celebrate, and it had me licking my whiskers, that’s for sure. I wanted to drop in and write a bit about how things are going since my last entry.

The way to my little purry heart is with chicken, as you know. When Tish & Roy eat, I always have to check out what they have. It usually smells amazing, but they don’t always share. They tell me that things like chocolate, onions, and garlic are bad for me, and they are stingy with most of their food.
They eat at their desks most of the time. I can stand on the back of their chairs and put my two front paws on their shoulders to get a sniff and a closer look at what is on their plate. Tish doesn’t put up with it for long. Roy will let me stay on his shoulder, and in appreciation for this, I let him know I approve by licking and nuzzling his ear while I am perched on his shoulder. His chair isn’t as comfortable to lie on like Tish’s is. I can lie on the back of her chair easily, and I do so quite frequently. You might even glimpse me from time to time when she goes live on Facebook! She understands that I have celebrity guest star status, and I am not on contract, so I come and go as I please during her videos.

This past month has created a bit of change in our home. Roy gets up almost as early as he used to, but he doesn’t get in the noisy blue thing on wheels in the morning now. He stays in his office, and talks and works on the computer for about the same time as he would have left previously. Maybe a little less time than that, as he seems to finish the day more quickly when he doesn’t have to leave in the mornings. I love being able to go visit him whenever I want to, even if sometimes he can’t hold me because he is working. Whatever that is. If he is working, Tish has been doing that the whole time I have lived here. Her time doesn’t always line up with Roy’s, but she often listens to people talking from her computer or typing away madly like I am making her do right now.
One day, before they left the house to go get cat food and litter, you know, essential items, Tish put this thing on her face and took a picture with me. I do not know what it was all about, but I am happy I didn’t have to wear whatever it is for the picture. It would make most things I do rather difficult!

If that wasn’t enough change for me, they pulled a bigger surprise on me last weekend. They got out the noisy creature with a hose that sucks things up off the floor and moved all the furniture around in the living room. Even my cat furniture! My tower is now in the middle of the living room window, instead of in the corner, near the same window. It took me two days to adjust to things being in unfamiliar places. The pleasant news is, when they finished cleaning, they didn’t pack a suitcase this time. When I was still a kitten, they cleaned a lot and went away more than once. You can understand my concern when they took it up a level and changed the entire room around. I thought for sure the cat sitter days were coming back to me. I like the placement of my cat tower, now that I am used to it, and I can look down on Tish from it as she types away on her computer.

Tish has been getting me to help promote her first book, From Where I am Sitting…A Collection of Cat Tales on her social media accounts. I am not featured in this book; she wrote it before I lived here. Since I have reluctantly agreed to help, she has graciously offered to allow me to write the introduction for her upcoming book, Tishspiration: The Art Of Surprising Yourself. With her first book, she was honoring the memory of a dear friend who would often say that all books should have at least one talking cat in them by getting all the cats to tell the tales. Her next book will be an inspirational book, and it stumped her on how to fit in a talking cat. When we were thinking about it (okay, I was napping and she was thinking) she asked if I could do the intro for her upcoming book. Naturally, I agreed, it improves my celebrity status, and who can resist Jazzy MacWebber? We will be an amazing team, and I will keep a close paw nearby when she types this new book intro for me!
I have a new hobby. Tish is selling makeup, and she now takes a lot of selfies. My new hobby is photobombing her selfies. I feel like I need to support her in any way I can. This should pay off in treats, catnip, and brushing my fur. I absolutely adore her when she brushes my fur for me!
Even though the blinds are closed, the sun is shining through them onto my tower. “Yawn.” I feel like I must go curl up in it and take an afternoon catnap. First, I must stretch all of my legs, before curling up into a purry ball of cat snores. It was nice to catch up with you all and keep an eye out for what I get Tish to help me with next! Until then, live, laugh, and meow as much as you can!
