The Struggle Of Self

We are born into this world
Alone, and the first thing we learn
Is to listen to the whisper of a will
That tells us
Please live.

You walk a path with others
But, in the end, you’ll discover
The shadows around you disappear with time
And just yours
Remains.

To learn to live with yourself
Is harder than anything else
When you’ve tried your best to tear yourself apart
Everyday
For years.

To trust and love that person
To battle the voice in your head
And make peace with your flaws and existence is
A vital
Journey.
