Time Will Not Wait

Every action reacts, and time is precious — something we cannot understand at times. Time is a valuable thing, yet we procrastinate. Procrastination is human nature, isn’t it? Don’t want to do something now; there’ll be time to do it later. If you don’t want to make that phone call right now, put it off, it’ll always be available later. Won’t it?

What happens when time runs out? Time always runs out when we least expect it. Every second of every day, there’s a change. Something new could happen that changes the future. It’s in our control, but nothing is under our control. Life can end at any point. Time will run out.

Time is not an unlimited resource. Is there such a thing as an unlimited resource? I don’t believe so. You cannot turn back time, only move forward. Focusing on the past gets the better of most people. “If only I would have done this.”

Where does that thought lead? It spirals down into the vortex until; you’re in the void. Nothing is happening, and you’re standing still wondering how you reached this point. Then the thoughts start over again. “If I would have done this, I wouldn’t be here.” That may be true, but why spend so much time fixating on how you arrived at this point?

There’s no reason to spend that much energy wondering. Things turned out the way they did for a reason. Things are how they are for a reason. How do we change it? We move. Looking back, running into the brick wall of the past is a futile effort.

We must move forward, keep moving forward. It’s easier said than done, not to let yourself slip into the void. Don’t go into the void. You can remind yourself daily. It’s nothing but darkness, indecision, swirling thoughts that don’t end. There’re thoughts about how things could be now. They aren’t real.

Focus on reality. What’s in front of you right now? What can you make of your future? It’s all up to you. None of it is up to you. Conflicting thoughts, conflicting actions. Controlling everything may be a desire, but it isn’t rational. There’s no way to control every piece of your life when everyone around you makes their own choices.

Their choices could change your life before you know it. Don’t let yourself go back in time; focus on the present. Stop the procrastination and do what you need to do. Do it now. Don’t tell yourself everything will be okay to hold off until later, it isn’t. You cannot hold off life.

Life won’t wait for you, so don’t spend your time waiting for it.
