What Have We Become
Photo by LT Chan via Pexels

Dark skies pierce through the moon’s embrace

Plagued by the overpowering cries of those ill and betrayed

Power and greed swallow most in the pursuit of pleasure

Craves the taste of poison to satisfy a hunger

Social media has become first as love is fading

What have we become? a world that truly needs saving

Souls tainted from illnesses on the rise

We wait and beg for more sun to shine

Riots that lead a path of danger and destruction

To grasp the things not heard for recreation

Support rarely holds value with families anymore

Sadly, a place we often find the deepest heartache and closed doors
