My life has changed dramatically over the past 10 years. From my perspective on life to pursuing my writing career, I have learned to look at the good things in life and think positively about my future. Here are the top three things that have been amazing in my life right now.

I gave birth to four amazing kids.

In the past 10 years, I’ve given birth to four amazing, smart, and out of this world babies. My oldest is 10, and his personality resembles me when I was his age. My oldest daughter is a powerhouse. She’s sharp and very determined to get things done. She’s the Peter Venkman of the group, and I know I won’t have to worry about her going through this thing called life. My second daughter is a mixture of my husband and me. Quiet, reserved, and loud when she really needs to be. My youngest son is pretty wild, but his curiosity about life makes me want to explore the world more. My kids have taught me patience and how to keep going in life, even when things look dark and scary.

I have published five of my books in the past six years I’ve been writing.

At the time of my first book, I was living in a homeless shelter with my family, and I was deeply depressed. During that time, I was writing deep love poems and fan fiction stories. I used to solely publish on Tumblr, but after hearing so many positive reviews, I decided to write and publish my first book “A Letter from my Heart: Original Emotional Love Poems” on July 10, 2015. I write to express my emotions, my writing journey has chronicled my losses and my gains. With five books under my belt, I’m happy to say I discovered my dream of becoming a writer.

I’m finally learning to control my anger and curve my negative thinking on life.

I had a horrible outlook on life. I played out a negative scenario every time I hit a roadblock, and I let my gloomy outlook on life ruin certain relationships and friendships. Finally, after having a horrible fight with my husband which almost led to us breaking up, I had enough of giving off bad vibes and decided to change my attitude on life. I’m looking at things on the brighter side, and I’m learning to bring good things to the table instead of a doom and gloom type of vibe.

I’m reminded everyday of how far my family and I have come over the past 10 years. With blood, sweat, and tears, we really fought to get where we are now. I’m still a work in progress as we all are in this world. But just reflecting back on what I have done over the past 10 years, has made me realize I’ve achieved the life I always wanted.
