yo plays

gat no biziniz

inna big pipple kanvisayshan

Weh di gwaahn nayba, | Whatโ€™s going on neighbor?

notn much gyal, | nothing much girl

but yo mi yer seh… | but did you hearโ€ฆ

 

Da mi aalwayz | Was always

di intro to haat | the introduction to juicy

Az wa pikni, | As a child

yo peel yo ayz | You listen in

bot shet yo mowt | but kept quiet

 

Yo noa wen shush geh heeti | You knew when the gossip got good

kaaz han meet hip | because hands were on hips

az di ooman | as the women

stan ah kimbo | took their positions

 

Wen joos di flai | When the gossip was good

laaf saaf eensaid | you laugh softly inside

soh yo kud daj | so you can miss

wa kot aiy | being looked at crossed eyed

 

Now memba | Now remember

yo hafu noa | you must know

yo plays | your place

 

Kaaz pikni noh | because children

gat no biziniz | have no business

inna big pipple kanvisayshan | in grown folk conversation
