If all kings and queens
Looked down below
Upon the gathering mass
What would they see?

A poor man
Clinging to a blanket for warmth
Asking for spare change
Anything for food or water

Or a girl walking down lonely streets
Hoping to find a companion
Someone for the night
To cure her broken heart

Maybe a soul on his deathbed
On borrowed time
Hoping for the right medicine
For the secret to life

If all kings and queens
Looked down below
Upon the crowd
What would they see?
