5 Top Foods For Your Body

There is so much confusing information on what we should or shouldn’t eat. Being healthy and healing our bodies is hard work! Maintaining a healthy lifestyle can get sidetracked with social events and lack of time. This short, simple list of foods will help you stay on track and feel great.

1. Oatmeal

This is a simple food that most people have eaten before. It is easy to forget about with all of the other unhealthy options available. Oats are full of soluble fiber and protein. Fiber aids in digestion and the protein provides energy while keeping hunger away. It is also packed full of antioxidants and nutrients. Oatmeal can also be used to make a face mask which will help to keep your skin smooth.

2. Yogurt

Yogurt, especially Greek yogurt contains probiotic organisms that help to aid in the balance of good bacteria in your body. This food is packed full of protein and calcium and helps to aid in digestion. This food can help protect against cancer and improve your immune system. When choosing a yogurt, look for one that states “no added sugars” or  “live and active cultures.” This will help you avoid any unwanted sugars and still get the benefits of the probiotic. Adding granola or fresh fruit can help with the taste of yogurt if it isn’t what you prefer.

3. Lemon

There are so many great benefits to the body when lemon is added to your diet. Lemon helps increase energy, is a natural detox for the body, improves and helps to maintain clear skin, improves digestion of other food, and if you are looking to lose weight it can promote weight loss. Lemons can be added to food, water, or tea.

4. Blueberries

Blueberries are full of fiber, antioxidants, Vitamins A and C. This food helps improve cardiovascular health, improve brain function to ward off age-related memory loss, and also helps to prevent diabetes and cancer. They can be eaten frozen, fresh, dried or even in jam and your body will still reap all of the benefits from this “superfood.”

5  Olive Oil

There are so many benefits to adding olive oil to foods. It provides antioxidants and fatty acids that are beneficial to the body. It also helps to keep you feeling full longer. Cooking with olive oil or using it as a salad dressing is ideal. It is also great to use a conditioner on your hair or even as a homemade facial mask.

This is only a small list of foods that can help aid in your healthy lifestyle. Small changes turn into habits and habits turn into a lifestyle that becomes second nature over time. Here’s to your health!
