I never knew love
Could be healing
Sinfully damaging
All at one moment

The one moment
Meeting their eyes
Looking into your soul
Leaving you exposed

Because here you are
Thinking that love is
A cruel and dangerous
Game to never fall

Inside the depths
Into your being
Or scooped up within
loving arms in salvation

Now the choice
Remains to us all
No matter who you are
Or who you trust

In the end the choice
To take a stranger’s hand
Riding off into the wilds
Into the sunset and happiness

Or risk being fooled
Tossed and ruined to
The core of your self
Never to be whole again
