Full Moon Lunar Eclipse Happening 27 July 2018

Although we in North America won’t be able to see it, on July 27, 2018 there will be a full moon lunar eclipse. The “blood moon” eclipse will take a total of 1 hour and 43 minutes to complete. The reason it is called the “blood moon” is that the moon will turn a spectacular red or a muddy brownish red for those of us that won’t be able to witness the actual eclipse.

Full moon energy to Wiccans is the culmination of lunar energy, as it is the slow buildup of energy of the moon from new moon to full moon. When the moon is at its fullest, its at its peak.

This is the time to use it and pursue goals that you may have been hesitant about. This is the time to enroll in classes, look for that dream job, or even start your business.

In Astrology, the moon is associated with emotions and this full moon will be taking place in the sign of Aquarius. Many people feel that Aquarius is water, but it’s actually air.

Air rules communications, thoughts, and ideas and the planet that rules Aquarius is Jupiter. The planet of expansion and growth.

The full moon in Aquarius means you may experience an increase in ideas and thoughts. Especially the ‘what ifs’ – what if I start my own business, what if I start school, what if I find a different job.

The full moon is the perfect energy for doing all of that. Combined with the energy of your sun, it may push you in the direction you need to go. The energy is really good for “aha” moments, that light bulb that goes on over your head.

Example: My sun is Taurus and a full moon in Aquarius would be really good in helping me come up with topics to write about, as I’m aspiring to be a writer.

It could give me ideas on which magazines to submit to or even help guide me on what type of writing I want to do. It could also cement ideas I have already been entertaining. The energy would help me focus what I want to do rather than just thinking about it.

If your sun is in Gemini, the full moon would give you double air energy. You would be bursting with ideas and topics. You may decide to be a teacher or choose this time as the best time for conferences or even travel.

If your sun is in Cancer, the full moon would make you think about your family more. You could choose to go and visit them. You could decide to open a daycare or, you could simply take your children out on day trips or to the park.

If your sun is in Leo, the full moon may cause you conflicting emotions as Leo is all about action, and Aquarius is more about thinking. You might find yourself second-guessing yourself.

If your sun is in Virgo, the full moon will increase your analytic abilities. You might find your thinking is sharper and the ability to make decisions quicker than usual. You may not worry so much about details as you can see the full picture better.

If your sun is in Libra, the full moon will help with your indecisiveness. Libras tend to be great peacemakers, as they see both sides of the story, and they hate discord and tension. They tend to sacrifice their comfort to keep the peace. This full moon energy, you will be able to make better decisions and see situations clearer.

If your sun is in Scorpio, the full moon energy can make your communications a little intense. You could be a little blunter and more direct than normal. With the clarity of Aquarius and the intensity of Scorpio, you may be more impatient than usual and less tolerant of others.

If your sun is in Sagittarius, the full moon energy can make you more adventurous than normal. Wanting to travel more, and see the sights. You might want to do more on your own and want to spend less time with people.

If your sun is in Capricorn, the full moon energy could make you less inflexible and fixed in your opinions. It could help you see the broader picture in the world and be less rigid in your personal interactions.

If your sun is in Aquarius, then you will have double the air energy. You could be bursting at the seams with thoughts, ideas, and communications. This is great energy for Aquarius’ that are thinking about teaching or going back to school or writing.

If your sun is in Pisces, then the full moon will ground your emotions. Pisces tend to be emotionally sensitive because they feel so much. With the moon in Aquarius, that could help ground you and help you to think logically so you don’t react so emotionally.

If your sun is in Aries, then the full moon will help with the ‘fight’ first energy. Aries tend to be impulsive and react before thinking through the situation. This full moon energy will help the Aries to think before acting.

The full moon energy, overall, is perfect for pursuing your dreams and putting into action things you’ve been wanting to do for some time. A lunar eclipse is even more energy being released for our goals.

So, while enjoying the unusual color of our moon on the 27th, feel all the possibilities that come with the full moon on that day and take advantage of those ‘what ifs’.
