There is nothing more that can be done
To stop you from using me for fun.
I put my foot down.
I said, “No more.”
I do not want to be a toy.
That does not bring me joy.
The constant criticism
Wears me down.
I will choose to stay away
Instead of giving you
Another day.
I may not be enough for you
But I will make my dreams come true.
I will dare to be myself
Without you tearing me down.
I will be enough.
I will be my own safe space.
Until then, I will be patient and wait.
