Spirit Jewels
Are you familiar with the Holy Spirit?
Christ sent Him down to complete in us what He began in Adam: a church without spot or wrinkle. The Holy Spirit is a wonderful treasure living inside Christian believers, and yet far too many Christian believers do not live inside the Holy Spirit.
Living inside the Holy Spirit is the example of Jesus Christ. His life and ministry was nothing less than the anointed truth of God. First John 5:7 teaches: “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”
Believers in Christ know the Word of God is the truth of God. We know the truth of God is the Father, the Holy Ghost, the Christ, the Holy Three who decided amongst themselves “Let us make man in our image; after our likeness” (Genesis 1:26).
God’s Word and His Holy Spirit of Truth created Himself inside Mary’s womb for the sole purpose of giving life to “that Holy Thing” Mary named Jesus. Here’s how Luke 1:35 explains it: “The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.”
Now, consider Jesus’ cousin, John the Baptist. Before John was conceived, he was prophesied of in Isaiah 40:3 which states, “The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.”
After the Holy Spirit had conceived Himself in Mary, she left Nazareth to visit her cousin, Elisabeth, who was already six months pregnant with John. Luke 1:41 reveals the Truth of the Spirit of God as a transferable power conductor this way: “when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost.”
John 1:14 clarifies it this way: “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
Jesus was the persona of the Holy Spirit on Earth. This is another reason Jesus referred to Himself as “The Way, The Truth, and The Life” in John 14:6.
The Bible is wisdom and spiritual food. The answers to life’s unanswered questions are contained in the Bible. Everything God wants us to know about Him and life, the Bible discloses. We can trust and believe what the Bible says because of what the Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
The powerful light of the Holy Ghost and the Father was encapsulated in Jesus’s flesh. The flesh of Jesus was governed by the Father and His Holy Spirit, making Christ our healer and our resurrection. It is also why Jesus, when led into the wilderness to be tested by Satan, used the word of God to resist temptation.
So, as Christ ascended back to heaven from where He came, so shall the born-again believer. Like Jesus, before our spirits were conceived as flesh, we were alive in Heaven as spirits. In other words, every living soul was sent from heaven to Earth to represent the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus came to teach and demonstrate to us how to perfect a measure of faith implanted within us before we are born. That measure of faith comes with a measure of power from the Holy Spirit of God.
Take Moses’ first encounter with God for example. God revealed Himself to Moses’s eyes as Spirit Fire speaking through a bush that appeared to be burning. What Moses saw, heard, and communicated with was the Holy Spirit of God. What’s more, Moses saw, heard, and communicated with our Lord and Savior, Jesus, who is, according to Isaiah 9:6, the “Everlasting Father.” The light that had illuminated Moses’ face was the manifestation of the Holy Spirit of God resting upon him after Moses had fasted forty days and nights in the Holy Presence of the “Everlasting Father.”
In John 14:10-11, Jesus said, “Believest thou not that I am in the Father and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.”
Jesus said, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” in John 4:24.
John 6:63 says this: “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
The Word of God is the same life and spirit that caused Elisabeth’s unborn son (John) to leap inside her womb and fill her with the Holy Ghost long before the day of Pentecost. As believers of Christ, we also have the anointing light and presence of the Holy Spirit. We are, as Christ is, anointed with spiritual giftings that enable us to live the example of Christ. We are empowered and equipped to reject, resist, and rebuke everything contrary to God’s Truth in the Holy Ghost and Jesus the Christ.
Faith in Christ Jesus is vital to the eternal destination of our spirits. The power working within us means our prayers have a profound effect on how things happen in our lives and how things can be prevented from happening on Earth.
