Are Spirit Guides Real?

Are spirit guides real? This is a topic open to debate because a majority of the time one never sees their spirit guide. It’s like something one has to take on faith.

In my personal experience, I know spirit guides are real. Mine made it a point to appear to me. Then, because I still didn’t believe what I saw? He appeared to two other people.

I was 16 years old the first time. I had just got home from babysitting, it was 1 am and I was dead tired. All I wanted was to go to bed and sleep, so it was a major shock and surprise, when I walked through the front door and off to my right I saw a man standing in the doorway to the living room.

It was very quick, but very detailed glance. The man’s head touched the doorway which is over 6′. He was wearing 1950’s black suit, and turban with a red jewel in the center, and looked Indian. Very cliché for a spirit guide huh?

It spooked the hell out of me and after another quick glance towards the doorway to verify that there was no one standing there? I promptly made excuses. I was tired. It was late. It was my overactive imagination, etc. I went to bed and tried to put it out of my mind.

A couple of weeks go by and no more man. It was very easy to tell myself that it was all my imagination, except … my mother came rushing into the kitchen where I was eating breakfast.

“Leanne (My middle name) you will never believe what I saw coming out of my African basket last night”

I’m still trying to wake up but, being a dutiful daughter, I pretend interest.

“What did you see Mom?”

Then, Mom proceeded to describe the EXACT same man down to the turban with the red jewel that I had seen two weeks earlier.

Needless to say, I felt a little shocked and surprised but, as my mother continued excitedly with her story, I was reeling inside.

It wasn’t my imagination and that spooked me so badly that I wouldn’t sleep at night without a light on, just in case he came back for another visit.

A month passes by without any reappearances by mystery man and I begin to relax again. I still kept the night light though.

Mom invited me to attend a class with her one evening and I accepted. It was a full auditorium and the class was very interesting but I noticed that the instructor kept staring at me throughout the class, which was a little unnerving.

I wasn’t surprised when, after the class, the instructor approached Mom and me. He apologized for staring at me but he went on to explain that he was surprised to see my spirit guide sitting on my shoulder staring back at him.

Then, he further shocked me by describing the EXACT same man both my mother and I had seen. It was through this instructor that I learned the man making the appearances was my spirit guide.

The reason he was showing up all the time was to let me know he was there and who he was. It turned out the instructor was psychic and could see spirits. Who better to see him than a psychic?

My guide goes by the name ‘Rajah’, not because that’s his name, but because I need to call him something. He’s the voice in my head and has helped me through the years to make the right choices.

He has a sense of humor that I always don’t get, and he sometimes frustrates the hell out of me, when he won’t let me take the easy path. Rajah has shown himself to other people over the years. He loves shocking people.

I have run into other psychics or ‘new age’ people that tell me Rajah doesn’t act like what their version of a spirit guide should act. I ignore them. I’m 61 years old and Rajah has never harmed me or led me to harm myself or others. Actions speak louder than words.

So, back to my opening sentence. Do spirit guides exist? Emphatically … yes!

Yours is out there and probably talks to you, but you can’t hear them or you are afraid to hear them.

Spirit guides do exist and everyone has one. Even you.

I enjoyed your article. I’ve never seen my Spirit Guide but I do get messages from loved ones who have died. I wrote an article about it a few weeks ago. Thanks for sharing.

I also have a guide who’s been called Raja . An old Indian man who sometimes takes the form of a grey wolf,, or at least, I think it’s the same guide.. technically only the wolf was introduced to me as Raja, but I get the same vibe from it as I do from the old man, which strikes me as crazy coincidental since I really know next to nothing about Indian culture, but have the name Raja given to me for (probably) a guide who appears to be Indian , and only later find out it’s an Indian name / title for king or prince or something..
Yeh.. hes told me some stuff..
