5 Websites Every College Student Should Know About

College often feels like you’re balancing four textbooks on a thin pole while you ride a unicycle over a tank of piranhas. I’m about to start my junior year at Rogers State University, so I understand what you’re going through. I spend so much time searching for resources to help me finish every new assignment and pass every test. You’re probably in the same boat. Lucky for you, I’ve found a couple websites that make my academic life easier while I’m at school and think we’re all in this together. Here are five websites I think every college student should know about.

RateMyProfessors

Have you ever wondered about the worst teachers on your campus? Do you know which professors you should avoid at all costs? If you answered “no” to either question, you need to get on RateMyProfessors. You can find real reviews from other college students on your campus. They share their real experiences – good, bad, and ugly – so that you can make a decision about which professors to avoid. I didn’t know about this website until my sophomore year, and it saved me a lot of grief with some potential professors.

My Study Life

If you’re like me, you enjoy keeping track of your assignments every week and use a planner to do it. However, if you’re like me, that means you often forget to use your paper planner. MyStudyLifeis the answer I’ve found for that. You can track your class schedules, assignments, revisions, and exams in the app. It’s also compatible on all of your devices. The biggest selling point for poor college kids is that it’s also completely free to use.

Quizlet

If you’ve ever done a homework assignment in high school, you’ve probably been introduced to Quizlet. This online tool allows you to create a custom study set based off of your notes or study guide. From there, you can play games or quiz yourself or study flashcards to prepare yourself for an exam. If you’re lucky, you can also find study sets that were created by other users in the same class. It’s also great for indebting your classmates when you share the set for them to study.

Paper Rater

If you hate writing essays, I have found the perfect solution for you. Paper Raterwill grade your essays for you, absolutely free. You can submit up to 15 pages of writing for critique and the website will use algorithms to determine the quality. While the website isn’t perfect, it’s still a great tool to compare your writing and ease your conscience before hitting the ‘submit’ button.

UNiDAYS

College is an expensive process and college kids need every break they can get. That’s why you need to sign up for UNiDays, which will give you special discounts for being a college student. All you have to do to make an account is sign up with your university email address. Most of the discounts are places that you’re already shopping at, so it’s definitely worth the time to sign up.

Are there any websites that you think could help a desperate college student? For my education’s sake, share them in the comments below!

J.C Ballard

Jordan Ballard has been a writer for most of her life, a passion that has only grown with her. A student at Rogers State University, she studies Corporate Communications and Public Administration. As a pessimistic optimist, she tends to see the world around her as something she aspires to change. In her spare time, she can often be found reading the same book for the nineteenth time. Her dream is to be a full-time writer someday.
