Never Too Late
I wish I could say that you’ve learned,
that you’re excelling
that you’ve refocused your goals
and you’re concentrating on improving.
But all you’ve done is plan
strategize
formulate ideas
suggest schedules
that you break in a week.
All you’ve done
is prove
that you’re weak
unfocused
easily sidetracked
and inconsistent.
I want nothing more than to sing your praises
boast to my family and friends
commend you for a job well done.
If only!
There’s still time, though,
to liberate those imaginative thoughts.
Let them blaze like wildfires on a windy day,
explode into the night sky with brilliant patterns,
parading with vibrancy.
There’s still time
to show the world:
It’s never too late
to shine.
