Who doesn’t like a good road trip? The memories and the fun of just driving to your destination are a huge part of the adventure when it comes to a road trip. Some people dread the drive to their destination, but to me, this is half the fun, as long as you prepare the essentials. Especially if you have kids, a list of road trip supplies is essential.

  1. Portable Travel Cooler: This is a great thing to have on your road trip for keeping snacks and drinks cool. Plus the snacks that can fit in the cooler will take up less room in the vehicle.
  2. Travel Games: There are so many games available that have been made into travel versions. They are portable and will keep you and your kids entertained for hours. There are also fun games that you do not need any equipment for such as “I Spy” and other enjoyable games. These games can even pass the time once you get to your destination while you are waiting to check in, in the airport or even in your rental or hotel room.
  3. Chargers: Most everyone in society today has a cell phone, laptop, portable DVD player, or some type of electronic device, and they all require some type of charger. Having extra chargers on hand always makes life much easier, especially with kids on a road trip.
  4. Emergency Kit: Things can go wrong, and it is better to be prepared. Whether it be a scraped knee, a bee sting, or something more serious such as a car accident, it is always important to be prepared. A good emergency kit will have items such as a flashlight, Band-Aids, matches, candles, and a blanket.
  5. Hand Sanitizer: This is a good item to have with you. Having clean hands to eat or just in general always makes everyone feel much better and cleaner.
  6. Music Playlist: We all love to listen to music, so why not prepare an awesome playlist to listen to while you cruise through some more memories.

No matter where you are going–near or far, it is important to be prepared to make things more comfortable for you and your friends and family. Enjoy your summer road trip, and be sure to tell me about it!
