Paralysis

My biggest fear is that I may die
while I am still alive
I become so afraid of life
that all I become stagnant
have my hearing fade
leaving only an insignificant humming
feel fear creep down my arms
squatting in my fingertips
forbidding me to connect
to worry so much about
the little things that
I am no longer able
to see the bigger picture
to have that fear sit
in the pit
of my stomach
consuming my every thought
causing a steady stream
of analysis paralysis
to lose trust in people
that I become unsure of
every word uttered
to finally look up and realize
that I have died
while I am still alive.

Calpernia Charles

Sea breeze clears my mind as the waves washes the tension away. Belize my native land that breathes creativity and uniqueness with every ray of sunshine. Written words my way of standing up and speaking out.
