Forever and Always

Forever and always
You said to me
As we both jumped
Into the waters of life

I will never let you go
You promised me
On many sleepless nights
Staying within your arms

You met me
In childhood innocence
Never knowing what love is
Until you came along

I wished upon a star
I would be with one
Who would share adventures
Who would be my hero

Running to hell and back
Saving me from lakes of fire
Fighting off the captors
The hungry demons of the night

We have been many a battle
As I faced my inner demons
Praying for my true love
To rescue me

Even in darkest days
You never left me
Even when you’re gone
Your love stays with me

Forever and always
You said to me
I take your words to heart
Knowing I am safe with you
