An Elton John Romance

There’s something about Elton John.
How his music is
An Art that draws
You in with every
Verse, all penned and
Crafted from his mind.

From musings to ideas
From ideas to action
All an artist’s forte.
A singular masterpiece
With passion and heart
Expressed in his creation.

There’s something about Elton John
That brings heart-shattering emotion.
Taking me back to better days,
Every one spent in your
Loving embrace in the silence
And the peaceful night.

“Someday out of the Blue,”
I believe was the song
That made me fall in love
With you my darling.
I replay it over and over,
In spite of myself.

Memories we once had
Feeling your warm touch
Against my skin, not
Having a care of the
Corrupt world we
Find ourselves in.

There’s something about Elton John
That the moment his songs
Reach upon my ears with
Melodious voice, they stay within
My soul enough to rip myself
Asunder with every verse.

Every song uttered from
His own lips, brings myself
To tears thinking of you.
How everything in the
Palm of our hands,
Destroyed us in the end.

There’s something about Elton John
I will never have the faintest idea
How his music reminds me of
Every moment we had, in
Our once upon a time was
Meant to be a fairytale ending.

With nothing left but the music,
Memories left behind that time
Will never erase what we had.
I lay our dreams to rest,
Hoping and praying we find
Happiness that was never ours.
