Arahura – A Poem
A winding misty mountain pass
Breaking against the shore
There I danced amongst blue gold
Where drips of crystal water flow
I ran to meet you as we crossed the bridge
Where the Arahura spilled her stories
Into the Tasman Sea:
Dancing on driftwood
‘Til I felt her bones
Her blood – the water
And In my dreams – she sang to me
In the choir of whale and bird song: Finally free
