Out of the blue
You became my life

Small and meek
You crawled into my heart

Born into innocence
You became my world

Soft fur to match your personality
To match your tender eyes

The sparkling light in your eyes
Eager for love and kisses

You never ceased to amaze me
To show how deep our bond was

Dogs are man’s best friend
Are what people have said

A mantra so easily chanted
Easily winning over many hearts

Crazy cat lady
A stigma anyone could happily choose

Every day you showed me how deep love is
Every day you showed how far love can go

No one could ever understand
Or fathom what our bond was

We shared many a day and night
Braving many misadventures

Every one ending in cuddles
As you were a treasure precious and true

Here our paths diverge
Our journey comes to an end

You were a true friend
A furbaby anyone could ever desire

In my heart forever you will be
Your memory I could never forget

Goodbye, my dear friend
Until we meet over the rainbow
