Our Firm Foundation

Nobody climbed the mountain
of trials and tribulations.
They grew comfortable
in dwellings built upon sand,
believing in their hardened hearts
there is no God.
But in the horrendous storm,
each house crumbled into ruin.
Fueled by hubris,
they rebuilt their homes.

How long does it take
to humble a heart of stone?
When will they learn
to honor our Creator?
For the mountain awaits
those willing to die unto self,
to follow the narrow path,
carrying their cross.

Beautiful said, and excellent rhyming, Ivor. Where do we land where there is peace and light?
