I took the well-traversed path,

the broad way to destruction.

I took his outstretched, shadowed hand.

And we became fast friends.

Hand in hand we skipped along,

my friend and I.

Skipping along,

singing a song,

my friend and I.

To what extent will we carry on,

my friend and I?

I tried to be as good

as I possibly could.

That only led

me to being misunderstood.

Now, I walk my own path,

the broad way to destruction.

Hand in hand with my companion-

My friend, the devil, and I.

Beautiful said, and excellent rhyming, Ivor. Where do we land where there is peace and light?
