Sinking Ship In Cynical Waters

Floating on negative waves; without a paddle.
Passing days, trapped within your leaky boat
Trying to plug each hole, of this sinking ship.
Yet, you keep adding to the flooding waters,
with every defeatist word.

Angry waves crash into this boat
of complaining bitterness.
Threatening to hurl us, in the black abyss
of your burning unhappiness.
Taking me down as well.

And still you wonder why I frown
As a gloomy watery grave, awaits us both.
You hold tight,
Your life-preserver, you’re afraid, will jump ship,

Leaving you to navigate, these pessimistic waters
of your own devices.
No bright sunlight to offer hope, just pitch black.
The sky mirrors the murky waters
turning the world upside down.

Winds of discontentment buffer
cries and pleas for help.
Though, all the while, you moan and bitch
about the unfairness of it all.

Acting like a spoiled child
throwing a tantrum.
Rocking the boat,
nearly dumping us into black and
green sludge filled water

Your daunting sea of negativity.
You tend upon these depressive waters.
Casting corroded lines,
hoping to catch something better.
Yet your bait is always the same.
Stuck upon your raging river
of dark hopelessness.

Drifting in a sea of cynical waters.
