The Crow’s Weighty Mission

Why is the crow
Carrying such a large twig?
It is not nest building time.

Maybe a strengthening rod,
To help hold the new chicks
In their cozy cradles?

Or a protection stick
To help ward off
The feral predators?

Whatever the reason,
His tenacious flight
Is a weighty mission!

Ivor, the photo is perfectly paired with this poem, both reflecting the uncertainties of this era.

Beautiful said, and excellent rhyming, Ivor. Where do we land where there is peace and light?
