Timeworn footprints in the sand

My ancient limbs are weary
Timeworn
From trying to walk on water
But I am able enough
To leave a footprint in the sand
Before the tide returns again

I am not deaf or blind
My eyes can hear the sound
Of a merciless war
Shredding families apart
The nation’s folks are
Crying rivers of tears
Which are spiritually
Flooding their sacred towns
