Ways to Deal With Spring Allergies

Waiting for spring weather is on top of most people’s lists; however, allergy symptoms make some people dread the return of this popular season. There are so many factors that can cause allergies in the spring. With new life popping up in the spring from weeds, grass, and pollen from trees this can cause a variety of allergy symptoms.

Allergies From Pollen

Trees that are most commonly related to allergy symptoms that are known to release pollen are:

  • Maple Trees
  • Poplar Trees
  • Ash Trees
  • Oak Trees
  • Birch Trees
  • Cedar Trees
  • Elm Trees

Grasses that are most commonly related to allergies and are known to release pollen are:

  • Sweet Grass
  • Bluegrass
  • Red Top Grass
  • Orchard Grass
  • Bermuda Grass

Another big cause of allergies in the spring is when mold spores hit their peak.

Some ways to prevent suffering from these seasonal allergies are to:

  • Vacuum and dust your home often
  • Avoid hanging your clothes outside
  • Shower before going to bed at night
  • Use an air conditioner versus having the windows open in your home and car
  • Check how high the pollen count is and try to avoid being outdoors when the count is high

If you do happen to end up with these allergy symptoms some of the treatments are:

  • Eye Drops
  • Oral antihistamines
  • Nasal Sprays
  • Over the counter medications

This time of year is great but when allergies hit you it can make you dread going outside. Hopefully, these tips for prevention and treatment will help you to not merely survive this season but flourish in it.
