And when the day is over
and everything is said and done…
Have I accomplished everything?
Have I won?
Go to work
for a long while.
It is so draining
to force a smile.
Completing small things
Is better than nothing.
I’m tired now.
It’s time to rest.
Everyone says
rested is best.
But no one can rest
from heaviness.
Therefore,
I am running away
from everything and everyone.
Someday, maybe,
my rest will come.
It has not yet.
Still, I will trust time,
And I will find
that part of myself
that has been lost-
no matter the cost.
